Overview

The Kori Trek 3 Nights 4 Days is a short and adventurous Himalayan trek from Pokhara to the spectacular alpine ridge of Kori Danda in Nepal’s Annapurna region. Situated northeast of Pokhara above the traditional Gurung village of Sikles, Kori offers peaceful trails, rhododendron forests, high alpine meadows and dramatic close-range views of the Annapurna and Lamjung Himalayan ranges.

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Sikles, one of the region’s important traditional Gurung settlements. From Sikles, the trail climbs through forest and grazing country toward Tasa, before ascending to Kori Danda at approximately 3,800 metres. From the ridge, trekkers can enjoy outstanding views of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, Machhapuchhre and surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Unlike the busier trekking routes of the Annapurna region, Kori remains comparatively remote. Accommodation above Sikles is basic, and the route passes through forests, seasonal grazing areas and open alpine landscapes where local herders traditionally graze livestock.

This 4-day itinerary is a fast version of the Kori Trek. It is best suited to travelers with good fitness who are comfortable walking for approximately 5–7 hours per day and gaining altitude relatively quickly. Longer 5–6 day itineraries provide a more relaxed ascent.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :

Pokhara → Sikles → Tasa

Meet your guide in Pokhara and drive northeast toward the traditional Gurung village of Sikles. The journey follows mountain roads through terraced countryside, forests and rural settlements.

After reaching Sikles, begin trekking toward Tasa. The trail gradually climbs through rhododendron, oak and pine forests, farmland and grazing areas. As you gain elevation, the environment becomes increasingly quiet and remote.

Arrive at Tasa in the late afternoon and spend your first night in a simple mountain lodge or teahouse.

Day 2 :

Tasa → Kori Danda

Trek: approximately 5–7 hours
Accommodation: Basic lodge / seasonal teahouse at Kori
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, begin the main ascent toward Kori Danda.

The landscape gradually changes from dense mountain forest to open alpine meadows and high grazing pastures. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Kori.

Reach Kori Danda at approximately 3,800 metres, where you will be rewarded with panoramic Himalayan scenery. Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal and other surrounding mountains dominate the northern skyline.

Stay overnight at Kori and, if weather permits, enjoy an unforgettable Himalayan sunset.

Day 3 :

Kori Danda → Sikles

Trek: approximately 6–8 hours
Accommodation: Lodge / homestay in Sikles
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Wake early to watch sunrise illuminate the Annapurna and Lamjung Himalayan ranges.

After breakfast, begin the long descent from Kori through alpine meadows and forests toward Tasa. Continue descending through the hills until reaching Sikles.

This is a long trekking day with a substantial descent, so trekking poles are particularly useful.

Spend the evening relaxing in Sikles and experiencing traditional Gurung hospitality. A documented four-day Kori itinerary follows the same pattern of Kori-to-Sikles on Day 3.

Day 4 :

Sikles → Pokhara

Sikles (1,980 m) → Pokhara (822 m)

Drive: approximately 3–4 hours
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, enjoy a final look around Sikles before boarding the vehicle back to Pokhara.

Descend through rural countryside, forests and river valleys before arriving in Pokhara, where your Kori Trek 3N/4D concludes.
